The complete 2026 ring size chart by circumference โ find your UK, US, EU, French and Japanese ring size from your finger circumference in mm, cm or inches. Full conversion table, visual scale guide and free calculator.
Ring circumference = the inner perimeter of a ring = the distance around the inside. EU size number equals inner circumference in mm directly.
Bar width proportional to circumference. Measure your finger and find your position on the scale. Gold = women's average (UK M, 49.9mm). Blue = men's average (UK T, 62.2mm).
Ring circumference is the measurement around the inside of a ring (or around the base of your finger). It is the most direct way to find a ring size because the EU/ISO ring size equals the inner circumference in mm exactly โ e.g. a ring with a 50 mm inner circumference is EU Size 50. UK and US sizes are derived from this same circumference value. The average UK women's finger circumference is 49.9 mm (4.99 cm) โ UK Size M. The average UK men's finger circumference is 62.2 mm (6.22 cm) โ UK Size T. Measure your finger circumference once with a paper strip and you can instantly identify your ring size in any country's system using the chart and calculator below.
49.9 mm รท 3.1416 = 15.9 mm diameter (UK M)
49.9 mm โ EU 50 (ISO 8653:2016)
49.9 โ 40 = French 10 (โ EU 50)
49.9 mm circ = US Size 5 (no simple formula)

You need a thin strip of paper (about 0.5 cm wide, 12 cm long) or a flexible cloth/vinyl tape measure, a fine-tipped pen or pencil, and a millimetre ruler. The paper strip method gives the most accurate circumference measurement for ring sizing at home. Floss, thread or string also work well โ simply wrap around the finger and then hold the length against a ruler.
Wrap the paper strip snugly but not tightly around the base of the finger you intend to wear the ring on. The strip should sit flat against the skin with no gap. Check you can slide one fingernail under it โ the fit should be close enough to feel the finger's shape but loose enough that it won't restrict circulation. Also check the strip slides over the knuckle with light resistance.
While the strip is still on your finger, use your pen to mark the point where the end of the strip meets itself (the overlap). This is the key measurement โ be as precise as possible. A fine-tipped pen gives a more accurate mark than a thick marker. Remove the strip carefully without stretching it.
Lay the strip flat on a hard surface alongside a millimetre ruler. Measure from the very end of the strip (the starting edge, not the far end) to your pen mark. This distance in mm is your finger circumference in mm โ your EU ring size. The typical range is 41 mm (small) to 76 mm (very large).
Enter your circumference in mm into the calculator above and select "Circumference in MM" for an instant result in all ring size systems. Or locate your mm reading in the Circ. MM column of the chart to read across to your UK, US, EU, French and Japanese sizes. Measure at least 3 times at different times of day and use the average for the best result โ fingers are slightly smaller in the morning and slightly larger in warm conditions.
