3 Why We Use Your Data โ€” Purposes of Processing
  • โœ‰๏ธ To respond to contact form submissions and email enquiries. When you send us a message via the contact form or by email, we use your name and email address to send you a reply. Your message content is used to understand and answer your enquiry. We do not use your contact details for any other purpose without your explicit consent.
  • ๐Ÿ”ง To investigate and fix reported errors. When you report an error in our sizing data or a broken calculator, we use the information in your message to investigate the issue and correct it. We may email you to let you know when a reported error has been fixed.
  • ๐Ÿ“Š To understand how visitors use the site and improve our guides. We use anonymised, aggregated analytics data to understand which guides and calculators are most used, which pages have high exit rates, and how visitors navigate the site. This helps us prioritise improvements and new content. This processing does not involve any individual identification.
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ To maintain the security and proper functioning of the website. Server log data (including anonymised IP addresses) is used to detect and respond to security threats, spam, and abusive traffic. This data is processed automatically and is not used to build individual profiles.
  • โš–๏ธ To comply with legal obligations. We may retain or disclose data where required by UK law, including by court order or regulatory authority. We will always notify you of any such requirement where legally permitted to do so.

Legitimate Interests Assessment โ€” Contact Data

Where we rely on Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for processing contact form and email data, we have carried out a Legitimate Interests Assessment (LIA). We have concluded that our interest in responding to visitor enquiries is genuine and proportionate, that processing is limited to what is strictly necessary to reply, and that there is no overriding prejudice to your rights and freedoms. You have the right to object to this processing โ€” see Section 8.
